Q:My protected program won't run!

Please have a look at "Bugs and Limitations" section in Help document first. If your program are not in the list, please contact us.

Q:Can SDProtector protect dll,ocx file?

Support for these files may be added in a future version

Q:I packed a20k .exe and its size increased ! Is that a bug ???

SDProtector uses the latest advances in software protection and encryption technology, which adds a 70k overhead. If your application is very large (1 mb for example), the final executable will be much smaller in size due to the tight compression used by SDProtector.
If your application is small however, you will see a slight gain in size in the final protected executable.

Q:Do I have to go through the licensing procedure again when I distribute an update?

No. Once a key is entered on your customer's machine, it will remain there until changed or until they reinstall the operating system. As long as you don't change the project name or produtct name , your updated program will recognize the previous version's keys.

Q:Since SDProtector compresses executable files, is it possible to re-create original file?

A: The idea of exe-protectors is to make it impossible to re-create original file, that's why SDProtector doesn't allow to re-create original file. However there are tools like ProcDump that allow you to partial reconstruction of protected files, but SDProtector use advanced techniques which cause file dumped through ProcDump, or similar tools, not be able to start or analyse

Q:Can SDProtector protect my 16-bit programs?

No, SDProtector will only work on 32-bit programs.

Q:Can SDProtector protect flash exe?

Yes, Just check option "preserve extra data" and uncheck option "Protect resource" in "Options" tab.

Q:I want to use the built-in system generating registration keys. What is the probability that a cracker who has the SDProtector will be able to get the protection keys for my application ?

It is impossible. For each project with the built-in system generating registration keys, series of random values are generated and then used for calculating registration keys.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE A PROJECT FILE AS A TEMPLATE FOR ANOTHER PROJECT! NEVER GIVE YOUR PROJECT FILE TO ANYBODY!

Q:In case if I use the built-in system generating registration keys, and I lose the project file, how can I restore data to generate more registration keys ?

You cannot do it at all, because constants for generating keys are stored in the project.

CAUTION: BACKUP YOU PROJECTS WITHOUT FAIL!

Q:What files do I need to distribute with my program?

Just the files you normally would. SDProtector has everything it needs stored within your protected EXE file, so you don't need to add anything to your normal distribution.

CAUTION: Do NOT distribute the *.bak files that SDProtector makes. These are unprotected backup files, and should remain on your system only.
