Bugs and Limitations
This version of SDProtector has no known bugs. If you find a bug, or
think you may have, please contact
us with complete information so that we may fix it.
There are a few technical limitations to SDProtector:
- Files which read data from an overlay after being loaded will most
probably not work anymore. That's a common problem with all PE compressors
or protectors.
- Multiple encryption (encrypt same file with SDProtector twice or more)
- It has problems protecting some programs that are compressed with
an EXE compression program(i.e. UPX).
- A very few programs, such as the WinZip Self Extractor, perform a
self-check on themselves when they are run. The indication they give
is that they will claim to be "damaged or infected by a virus"
after being protected. These programs may be incompatible with SDProtector
(and every other protection system) entirely if you cannot disable that
feature, since it does not permit any changes to the original program.
- DLL/OCX files are unsupported.
- files with writeable shared sections are unsupported.
- C# EXE files are unsupported currently.
Support for some of these files may be added in a future version
